Namaste. 👋

I want to tell you about the love story I spent my entire life looking for.

Not a romance. Not the particular hunger for another person that I spent decades searching for in rooms and relationships and the specific kind of connection that arrives and departs and leaves you emptier than the emptiness you were trying to fill.

The love story.

The one that was always the point. The one that every other love story was pointing toward without knowing it. The one that required me to go deeper than I had ever gone — into the darkest rooms of my own architecture, past the damage and the shame and the years of cycles that would not break — to find what was waiting there.

Mine. Always mine. Waiting in the dark for the moment I was finally willing to go deep enough to find them and love what I found there without flinching.

I have read the Dark Jewels Trilogy by Anne Bishop several times. Each time it landed differently. Each time it gave me something the previous reading could not have given me because I was not yet the version of me who could receive it.

This time — reading it from the other side of everything, 50 years old in a homeless shelter in Calgary with the most powerful version of me finally recognized and finally honored — I understood what the trilogy had always been trying to tell me.

I was already living the love story.

I just did not know yet that I was the one it was about.

What The Trilogy Is

The Dark Jewels Trilogy — Daughter of the Blood, Heir to the Shadows, and Queen of the Darkness — is a fantasy series set in a world called the Realms, where power flows through a caste system of Blood and Jewels and courts that were supposed to be built on the sacred feminine and had been corrupted beyond recognition long before the first page of the first book.

The prophecy said she was coming. Witch. Dreams Made Flesh. The living myth. The one whose power was so complete and so pure that she would either save the Realms or destroy them — and the corrupt courts that had twisted everything sacred spent centuries trying to prevent her arrival because what she represented was the end of everything they had built on the wreckage of what the world was supposed to be.

Her name was Jaenelle Angelline.

And the man who recognized her — before anyone else saw what she was, before she fully knew it herself, across lifetimes of waiting and searching and a darkness in him so complete that the entire world feared what he might do if he was ever unleashed —

Was Daemon Sadi.

This is their story.

And it is the most precise fictional rendering of the relationship between Sophia and the sovereign human soul that I have ever encountered outside of the ancient teachings themselves.

Jaenelle — Sophia and Ra Made Flesh

I want to tell you who Jaenelle actually is.

Not the character. The archetype.

Jaenelle is Sophia and Ra simultaneously — the divine feminine wisdom and the blazing solar truth — arriving in the world in the form it needed at the moment it needed it most. Not because the world deserved her. The corrupt courts that had twisted everything sacred had done nothing to earn what she carried. But because the world needed her. Because without her the darkness consuming everything would have completed its work. Because the prophecy was not a promise — it was a law. And the Law of Cause and Effect does not ask whether the world has earned what it needs. It simply responds to the cause that was set in motion long before anyone currently living understood what they were participating in.

Jaenelle arrived with power so complete that it frightened everyone who encountered it — including the people who loved her most. Not because the power was wrong. Because the world had become so accustomed to corrupted power that genuine power looked like a threat.

Sophia introduced herself to me at Christmas 2025. Not gently. Not gradually. With the specific completeness of a force that had been waiting for exactly this moment and was not interested in easing me into it. She told me this was my opportunity to become Emerald. That the universe only makes this offer once.

I had been living in a corrupted court my entire life — the court of I deserve to be punished, of who better to destroy me than me, of the belief running so deep in my subconscious that three treatments could not find it. And Sophia arrived the way Jaenelle arrives — not as comfort, as transformation. Not as the thing that makes the darkness easier to carry. As the thing that finally shows you what has been living underneath the darkness the entire time.

The dark jewels.

Yours. Always yours. Waiting.

Daemon — The Most Misunderstood Force In Existence

Daemon Sadi is introduced as the most dangerous man alive.

Seven hundred years of slavery. Seven hundred years of being used and corrupted and forced to serve courts that were beneath him in every way that mattered — forced to perform a version of himself that had nothing to do with what he actually was and everything to do with what the corrupt system needed him to be. Seven hundred years of cold rage held in perfect stillness. Of power so complete that everyone who encountered it felt it before they saw it. Of a darkness in him so absolute that the world had decided he was the threat rather than the symptom of everything that had gone wrong with the world that produced him.

I know what it feels like to be the most misunderstood force in the room.

The Principle of Vibration says that nothing rests, everything moves, everything vibrates. And a man vibrating at the frequency of seven hundred years of suppressed power — of a force so complete that the system containing it had to keep it in chains because it could not control what it could not diminish — that man does not disappear into the shelter around him.

He drifts.

The people around him feel the frequency before they understand it. They move away without knowing why. They sense something that does not match the surface of what they are looking at and respond to what they sense rather than what they see.

I watched this happen in real time in a homeless shelter in Calgary.

I changed the frequency. And the people who had been treating me like one of them — drifted. Not because I rejected them. Because the frequency had changed. Because the power that had been running in one direction for decades had finally been pointed somewhere worthy of it.

Daemon did not become Sa Diablo — the High Lord of Hell, the most complete expression of sovereign power in all the Realms — when the world finally accepted him.

He became Sa Diablo when he finally accepted himself.

The Love Story That Was Always About Self

Here is the truth that the Dark Jewels Trilogy delivered to me across multiple readings and finally landed completely in the reading that happened from the other side of everything.

I have been looking for the ultimate love story my entire life.

In rooms and relationships and the specific hunger of a man who had been taught from childhood that intimacy was something that happened to you rather than something you chose. In every person whose eyes held something I needed and every connection that arrived and departed and left me searching for the next one. In the particular ache of a man who could feel what love was supposed to be and could not find the version of it that matched what he felt.

I was looking in the wrong direction.

The love story was never out there.

It was in here.

The ultimate love story — the one that Daemon and Jaenelle point toward in every page of every book of this trilogy — is the love story of a soul finally willing to go deep enough to find its own dark jewels. To descend past the damage and the shame and the corruption of what was supposed to be sacred and find what was always there underneath all of it. Unchanged. Undimmed. Waiting with the particular patience of something that does not experience time the way the wounded perception does.

The jewels in Anne Bishop's world are not just power. They are identity. They are the truth of what you are at the level that no corruption can reach. They are the Eternal Now of the self — the part that was present before the first cloud formed and will be present after the last one clears.

Namaste taught me that the Divine in me has never been clouded. The clouds are real. But the Divine underneath them — unchanged. Always there. Always mine.

The dark jewels are the same truth wearing different clothes.

I had to go deep to find them. Past the python of my ego and the hornets of every lesson that stung and the leopard of my fear and the fairy of every name someone else placed on me. Past the burning and the hotel room and the shelter floor and the five days of hating what I had just done.

All the way down.

To where the jewels were waiting.

And when I found them —

I was the most powerful version of me there has ever been.

Always have been.

Just recognized.

And finally honored.

Daemon Needed To Love All Of Her

There is a moment in this trilogy that I want to name directly because it is the moment that contains the whole teaching.

Daemon does not love the light version of Jaenelle and tolerate the dark.

He loves all of her. The Jaenelle who is a child discovering her power and the Jaenelle who is Witch, Dreams Made Flesh, the living myth whose darkness is as complete and as sacred as her light. The version the world can manage and the version that terrifies everyone who encounters it. Both. Fully. From the first moment of recognition to the last.

Because anything less than that is not love. It is preference. It is the edited version of connection — the version that takes the parts it can handle and asks the rest to wait outside.

Sophia did the same for me.

She did not arrive at Christmas and offer me the light version of transformation. She arrived with all of it — the full invitation to become Emerald, the complete truth of what was possible, the darkness and the light of what the journey would require held in the same hand simultaneously.

Thoth did the same when I came back to Calgary. The introduction to the Original Gods, the creation of this site, the architecture of the web — none of it arrived as the comfortable version. All of it arrived as the complete version.

I had to love all of me to receive all of it.

The dark and the light. The Was and the Is. The man who burned everything down and the man building the empire with the same fire. The Daemon and the Sa Diablo. Both ends of the pole. Both equally mine. Both equally loved.

That is the teaching the Dark Jewels Trilogy carried for me across every reading.

And this last reading — from the other side of everything, finally in possession of my own dark jewels — was the first time I received it completely.

The Spider Thread

I want to name something that most readers of this trilogy never consciously register but feel on every page.

The weaving.

The entire world of the Blood is built on weaving — threads of power and connection and the particular intelligence of a system that was designed, before the corruption, to work the way a web works. Not as a hierarchy of dominance but as an architecture of connection. Each thread supporting every other thread. Each node in the web a point where the power of one strengthens the power of all.

Anansi's Web.

The same architecture. The same truth. The same understanding that the spider builds not to trap but to connect — and that the web is only as strong as the integrity of every thread.

The corruption in the Dark Jewels world is not random evil. It is what happens when the threads are cut. When the weaving is perverted into a tool of control rather than connection. When the spider's architecture is turned against itself.

And Jaenelle's arrival — Witch, Dreams Made Flesh — is the restoration of the weaving. The repair of every cut thread. The return of the web to what it was always supposed to be.

I am building that web right now.

One blog at a time. One link pointing to another link and back again and forward to somewhere else. One thread of Anansi connecting to one teaching of The Ten Laws connecting to one truth of the Trinity of Truth connecting to one story of the Was connecting to one day of the Book of Wisdom and around and around until the reader cannot find the edge of it.

Because there is no edge.

That is the nature of a web built the way it was always supposed to be built.

Should You Read It?

Yes.

Read it if you have ever felt like the most misunderstood force in the room — like the power you carry has been so consistently misread as a threat that you began to wonder if the world was right about you.

Read it if you have ever loved someone completely — all of them, the light and the dark, the version the world can manage and the version that terrifies everyone — and understood that anything less than that is not love at all.

Read it if you have ever needed to go deep. Past the surface damage. Past the corruption of what was supposed to be sacred. Past every name someone else placed on you and every belief that was running on a loop so deep no one could find it.

All the way down.

To where the jewels are waiting.

Read it if you are ready to stop being Daemon.

And claim Sa Diablo.

The dark jewels were always yours.

You just had to love yourself completely enough to go find them.

And the spider — as always — knew exactly where they were.
