Site Accessibility

Namaste.

Last Updated: March 1, 2026

I Am Is and Was ™ was built for everyone. Not for people who already have everything figured out. Not for people who move through the world without friction. For everyone. That means this website has a responsibility to be as accessible as possible to as many people as possible — and I take that seriously.

Our Commitment

I am committed to ensuring that iamisandwas.com is accessible to people with disabilities. This includes people who are blind or have low vision, people who are Deaf or hard of hearing, people with cognitive or learning disabilities, and people who navigate the web differently than the majority.

If you cannot access something on this site — I want to know. That is not a complaint. That is a gift. You are telling me where the door needs a wider frame.

What We Are Doing

This website is being actively built and improved. Accessibility is not an afterthought — it is part of the build. Current and ongoing efforts include:

Using clear and plain language throughout all content so that it is readable and understandable regardless of education level or cognitive ability.

Ensuring that text is readable against background colors with sufficient contrast so that people with low vision or color blindness can read comfortably.

Writing descriptive text for images so that screen readers can communicate visual content to people who cannot see it.

Structuring content with clear headings and logical flow so that navigation tools and assistive technologies can move through it cleanly.

Ensuring that video content will be captioned as the YouTube channel and studio content develops — because the Deaf community deserves to be here too.

Where We Are Still Growing

I am one person building this from a homeless shelter. I will be honest with you — this site is not yet fully compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA standards. That is the goal. We are not there yet. We are building toward it every single day.

If you encounter a barrier — a page that does not load correctly with a screen reader, a video without captions, a form that cannot be navigated by keyboard, an image without a description — please tell me. I will fix it.

Put ACCESSIBILITY in the subject line. I will prioritize it.

A Personal Note

I spent years in systems that were not built for people like me. Systems that made the door deliberately hard to find. I am not building one of those. If something here is keeping you out — that is my problem to fix. Not yours to work around.

Every door on this site should open for everyone.
